SUBJECT: HOA April News & Important Announcements

April 2022

2022 HOA Membership Drive
Join the HOA Today!

Our operating income comes 100% from your dues

We are doing our part by being fiscally responsible with your money, but we can only be as effective as the support we get.  Consider what happens when you don't pay your dues and leave it up to your neighbor to carry the burden.  What if your neighbor does the same thing and that happens over and over again? Every household's support is important!

We held our dues to $150 this year, but inflation is impacting our costs for landscape maintenance, electricity, water, insurance and more.  If you have never joined the HOA before I urge you to join today. Our $150 dues are one of the lowest in our area. Be a part of the team that helps keep YOUR neighborhood beautiful and strong!

It's easy to pay online through the EFCHOA website using the button below or leave a check in the drop box on my porch at 7313 White Castle Lane.  Any questions regarding membership or suggestions for the HOA, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at membership@efchoa.com..

Distribution of Member 2022 Stickers

Thank you to Jessie Zhan for volunteering to place the 2022 stickers on HOA member yard signs.  Jessie has placed new stickers on all residents who joined before April 3rd.  Every couple weeks, we provide her with a list of signs needing stickers.  If you requested a sign, it will be left on your front porch.  If you haven't received your sticker or sign and would like to get it right away, feel free to contact Kathie Kankel at president@efchoa.com.

All HOA Members are invited to attend open Board Meetings.  Meetings are held on Zoom 6 pm or at a Board Members home at 7 pm.  A week before the meeting, I email information to members about where the meeting is being held.  We welcome your attendance and just request that you RSVP so we can accommodate all who want to attend.  Our next meetings are scheduled for May 10 and June 7.

FROM THE BOARD
Social Committee Needed! - Can We Count On You?

Our Social Committee was a person of one, but his work schedule has changed and he is no longer able to finish our Spring Social planning. He has already reserved the Party Trailer from the City of Plano for Sunday, June 12th.  We are asking for a couple of people to step up to finish the planning for our Spring Social. Here's all you would need to do.

  1. Contract Food Truck using our Food Truck locator vendor
  2. Hire DJ for event
  3. Plan 1 or more kids activities ie Face Painting, craft, bounce house, cake walk, etc.

If you can help please call or text me (972-567-4168) or email me.

Thank you in advance for your help, because as much as we would like to, the Board cannot do it all.

Spring Watering Rules Start

Beginning April 1, the City of Plano asks you to water lawns and landscapes only two times a week. Avoid watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and when rain is in the forecast.

Use the last digit of your home address to follow this schedule:

  • Even digit (including zero and homeowners associations): Monday & Thursday
  • Odd digit: Tuesday & Friday

Though it's tempting to set the sprinkler system to automatic, it's always best to run it manually. Keep from over watering your lawn, sign up for a friendly reminder at WaterMyYard.org

If you have questions about foundation watering, new landscape variances or anything else water-related, find answers on the water conservation webpage. Learn how to make minor sprinkler repairs and to save more water outdoors

CRIME WATCH NEWS
Free and Safe Disposal of Medications

The Plano Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will host a collaborative effort to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from medicine cabinets. This initiative seeks to prevent increased pill abuse and theft by providing a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction.

  • The program is free and anonymous;
  • Prescription and over-the-counter solid dosage medications (i.e.: tablets and capsules) will be accepted;
  • Intravenous solutions, injectables, inhalers, and needles will not be accepted;
  • Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamines are not a part of this initiative.

The local event will be held on April 30, 2022, from 10:00a to 2:00p. at the following locations:

  • Plano Senior High School – 2200 Independence Pkwy
  • Clark High School – 523 Spring Creek Pkwy
  • Plano East Senior High School – 3000 Los Rios Blvd
  • Plano West Senior High School – 5601 West Parker Rd
