Good Morning,
Happy last week of summer (or first day of school in our case!). It went by FAST!
As I'm sure many of you have noticed, there is a small group of residents who are passionate about "saving" the lights in our neighborhood. I wanted to take a minute to clear up some misinformation and share facts.
- The information you're receiving is not coming from the EFCHOA. The EFCHOA has been in regular contact with both Oncor and the City of Plano.
- The EFCHOA is not collecting a "special fund" - the funds you are pledging, you are pledging to individual residents who are not on the HOA board.
- Oncor is NOT replacing our decorative lights with "highway lights" - this is deliberately misleading and a scare tactic to collect pledges.
- The vote tomorrow is to end our third party agreement with Oncor to allow them to replace the existing inoperable decorative lights with new updated decorative lights at ZERO installation and maintenance cost to EFCHOA and our residents.
- The decorative light they will replace the inoperable lights with is called an "Acorn" light and can be found throughout all of the high end neighborhoods in Plano including Lakeside and Willow Bend - photos attached.
- Oncor has told us the new lights will be installed in phases as the old ones become inoperable or as they run out of replacement parts (which is inevitable as the technology is antiquated).
- Oncor has also committed to finding a solution that will ensure all four lights on the bridge are uniform.
- As residents of the City of Plano and therefore Oncor customers, you/we/all of us will still have the ability to make requests (such as bulb type) to Oncor regardless of the outcome of the vote tomorrow.
I will follow up later this week to share more. I felt bad allowing the rumors and misinformation to spread and wanted you to have some facts. I am sorry your inboxes have been inundated on the topic.
Warmly,
Erica Tuscano
President, EFC HOA Board
