On May 13th the Estates of Forest Creek HOA held a Zoom Board Meeting with 17 residents in attendance. Maston Kucheki, Director of Beautification, presented information on the landscape designs to be used on the islands (medians) being updated. The improvements are made possible by the $20,000 Neighborhood Vitality and Beautification Grant, which the HOA applied for and received from City of Plano’s Neighborhood Services last year. The HOA Board extends a big thank you to Ranneh Kayfan who led this very detailed effort to obtain the grant.
Guests at the May 13th Board Meeting were City of Plano Neighborhood Services representatives Conor Campbell (Senior Planner) and Stephanie Peacock (Neighborhood Engagement Manager) who discussed the grant process and goals. The HOA will pay $4,500 with the grant funding the remaining part of the project.
The designs are subject to the islands size and existing trees, etc. The HOA will NOT be removing any existing trees planted by the city and areas that are not affected by the plans, will remain the same. There may be some diversity/adjustments among the designs. Many islands currently have a variety of beautiful plants. Our HOA does NOT plan on discarding these plants. In fact, our goal as an HOA is to reuse the current plants we have and incorporate them into the design and plans! During this process, the current plants will have to be removed temporarily, but we will use them in the plans as best as possible once we are in the planting phase of the project. Our goal is to preserve and transplant the plants with care so they can reestablish their roots.
The work will be done in phases, a few island medians at a time. This will allow us to limit the traffic on Hearst Castle, as well as keeping Hearst Castle presentable and tidy throughout the project. Please exercise caution while driving on Hearst Castle during the next couple months, to protect those who are doing the landscape work to beautify our neighborhood.
