SUBJECT: HOA Annual Meeting & Election of 2026 Board - HELP NEEDED

🥧 🍂 November 6, 2025 🍂 🥧
MESSAGE FROM HOA BOARD
Won't You Help Our Neighborhood?

Dear Neighbors,

I volunteered for the HOA Board in 2017 after the board sent out a plea for volunteers because the HOA was approaching a crossroad. One path would lead to continued success in making the Estates of Forest Creek a great community to live in and one sought after by prospective new homeowners. The other path, without adequate HOA volunteers, would potentially lead to the abolition of the HOA and turning over all maintenance and improvement projects to the City of Plano.

This year, after 9 years, I am stepping down from the Board. Despite all of the board members' efforts we have not been successful in recruiting a replacement for secretary, AND we have other Officers who plan to transition off the Board next year.

So ... I find myself writing to you with the same sense of urgency and need for volunteers as the 2016 HOA Board that recruited me.

We need our residents to step up and get involved in the HOA if we are to survive. If you truly believe that the HOA brings value to our community, consider volunteering for a board position. The time commitment is 2-4 hours per month. If you believe the HOA doesn’t bring value and you wouldn’t care one way or another if it continues on, then do nothing. But, before you decide, ride around our city with eyes wide open and it will become evident which neighborhoods do not have an active HOA and rely on the city for maintenance and improvements and ask yourself if those standards are acceptable to you and protective of your home investment.

I do hope you will consider nominating your name for a position on the 2026 HOA Board or at least volunteering to fill the open secretary position. Our survival depends on it!

Sincerely yours,

Kathie Kankel, outgoing EFC HOA Secretary

SEASON'S BEST - FALL 2025

Our Fall 2025 Season’s Best award goes to Gary and Nancy Hahn on 3713 Roxbury Lane. The Hahn home has updated landscaping adding rocks, paving stones, and large planters. The front door has welcoming fall decorations.  The front yard has many different colors of green, well shaded by large trees, and flowers. Gary and Nancy moved to the Estates of Forest Creek in 1994, and have been HOA members for many years.

Serving in the EFCHOA, you just never know who you are going to meet.  When the committee went to the Hahn’s to award Fall Season’s Best, one of our members realized they had friends in common and need to get to know each other better.  It’s always fun to get to know your neighbors better!

CRIME WATCH
National Night Recap

A huge thank you to all that attended National Night Out.  It was very successful with a very high turnout.  The kids had a great time and it was great visiting with those neighbors I don’t normally see.  Looking forward to next year.
